About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Pete, I’m 20 years old and I’m about to start my third year at university. I have a passion for sport, in particular football, cricket and Formula 1, and that’s what I’ll be writing about in this blog. I also love gaming, so there will be some posts on sport games past and present.

Football: I have been a big football fan since I was very young. I support my local side, Ipswich Town, so I will include articles on the Championship as well as the Premier League, Champions League and international football.

Cricket: Until 2001, I had no interest in cricket, in fact I used to get cricket muddled up with golf! The first cricket I watched was the 2001 Ashes series on Channel 4 and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I attend a day of a Test Match at either Lord’s or The Oval every year, along with one or two games at Chelmsford. Most of my cricket articles will be focussed around the England side.

Formula 1: This is the first sport that I discovered. My parents have always been interested in the sport, so naturally the TV was always on ITV on a Sunday lunchtime to watch the races. My earliest memory of F1 is 1999, and I have been fascinated by it ever since, even through the Schumacher era.

Gaming: I was given my first games console – a PS1 – at the age of 6, and my first game was F1 1997. Since then, the vast majority of games I have bought have been sport-based. After the PS1, I used our desktop computer for gaming, and now I have an Xbox 360. As well as talking about current games, I will write some posts about older games.

I hope you enjoy reading this blog, any follows, like and comments are much appreciated! I want to hear your views and I’ll try to respond to every comment, so get involved! I also know write for Football League World, you can check out their blog here.

I’m now on Twitter as well, follow me @peteonsport!

  1. Always good to find a fellow Ipswich Town fan blogging, though I’ve been following them for longer than you’ve been alive! Looking forward to your Championship posts

Any thoughts?
